Since 2016, the Youth Advancement Society has partnered with Bishop McNally High School to conduct classroom presentations on post-secondary. Amidst the current ongoing pandemic, YAS continues to reach out to high school students in an online setting. Our organization hopes to eventually expand outreach services to other schools within Alberta.

Our purpose is the same today as it has always been - to be a unique and useful resource consisting of students who understand the same experiences that the next generation of graduates may experience.

We are the very first program of its kind in Calgary and we are proud to be completely non-profit, volunteer-run and organized!

Our mission is to provide youth with the information, tools, and most importantly, the confidence, to succeed in life after high school. Through outreach events, afterschool workshops, and mentorship opportunities, YAS aims to assist each student to make a purposeful and informed decision about pursuing post-secondary education, and encourage them to make the most out of the opportunities available at the post-secondary level.
Established by students from Bishop McNally High School's Class of 2015, the Youth Advancement Society seeks to build a network of students in Calgary to support upcoming high school graduates in their transition to post-secondary.
YAS wishes to be an advocate and partner in modernizing Alberta high school curriculums to include valuable skills that would help students navigate life as an independent young adult.
